Time to trade slingshots for sunglasses and turn the shoreline into the most exciting beach party of the season. Red has already claimed the best lounging spot by the water, Chuck is riding the waves faster than a summer in the city, and Bomb is, well… Mr. Cannonball Splash!
But no walk on sunshine is complete without the perfect summer gear.
To celebrate the flock’s return to South Beach, Piggy Island’s sunniest slice of paradise, the Webshop is packed with shimmering Bird Coins and beach-ready Power-Ups to keep the good vibrations going all summer long.
The tide is high, South Beach is calling, and the flock is ready to go-go!
Welcome to What’s Hatching?! Here you’ll find what the flock’s been working on, what’s in the slingshot, and some surprises still under the feathers. This is our way of keeping you in the loop with no fluff, just the good stuff.
Now Hatching gives you a nice little peek into topics our team is currently working on before going live, while Off the Nest lists all the updates you already have access to.
Feel free to bookmark What’s Hatching?! for regular roadmap updates from your Angry Birds Friends team.

💦 Dive Against Swine
Coral reefs and Hawksbill turtles are under threat from the reckless rise of swine-like invaders. Dive into the deep blue between June 4 and June 11.
✨ Power-up bar Relocation
We heard you, and are looking for a new location for the Power-up bar so it no longer clashes with your slingshot targeting or hides any level structures. This quality of life update has now been released for public testing.
✨ Co-created tournament
Thank you for all the dozens of Level Editor towers you shared by the end of 2025. Great material for a new tournament with a date to be announced later! Oh, and here’s a quote from our team: Wow! amazing designs 🔥💕
✨ Do Not Press 2.0
The blinking switches are part of the core gameplay and often lead to fun chain reactions and destructive animations. You mentioned it can be a challenge to spot all the switches, so we started working on all-new blinking buttons. They’re big, bright, and come in fancy colors!
✨ Construction Site Signs
In all the PIG chaos, Foreman Pig (the mustache snout) is adding informative construction site signs so the pigs wouldn’t flip the wrong switch. We have a hunch this’ll help the birds way more than the pigs!
💦 Google Play Update
We’re setting up a new way to sign in, save progress across devices, and gather Achievements for Android players!
💦 Ad Video Experience
Ad videos that are difficult to close or risk freezing the game during gameplay have been a cause of frustration. We’re tackling ad videos on multiple fronts, and players will see the in-level ads being turned on and off.
💦 Fun Factor
We’re taking extra time to work on balancing the level of challenge. Now replacing some of our special tournament themes with “fun-factored” regular tournaments. Our big goal for 2026: levels will fit the various playing styles and flinging skills out there, with a learning curve that still offers surprises and aha! moments.
🥚 Top Secret
A top secret project is on the way and all we can share for now is, the birds are waiting for their moment in the spotlight.
🥚 Another Top Secret
The tailwind stopped, but the pigs are still trembling.

Power Potion Boombox
Pour your Power Potion over the Boombox and let it fly for the biggest & baddest kaboom ever!
Angry Birds Friends is diving in.
In the vibrant coral ecosystems of the ocean floor, life is fragile but bursting with color and motion. Hawksbill turtles and their tiny hatchlings glide through coral reefs, feeding on sponges and keeping the ocean in delicate balance.
Above the reef, the pigs behave less like animals and more like industrial overlords on a joyride, tossing waste overboard without a second thought. Barrels of sludge, tangled plastic bags, and discarded car tires rain down into the coral below.
But dumping trash is not their only scheme. The pigs have also developed a taste for an exotic new snack: sea turtle eggs. 🐢🥚
Red and the flock strap on their diving gear and plunge into the deep blue.
At first, it feels like discovery. Bright reefs, drifting currents, the thrill of the unknown. Then they see her.
A young wide-eyed sea turtle, still learning the ocean’s language, swimming through a reef clouded by debris. Survival should not be this hard, and yet for thousands of hatchlings across real-world reefs, it is.
Even Red, usually driven by pure determination, pauses. His beak tightens. The mission shifts in an instant: protect the reef. Protect the hatchlings.
Join the flock as their underwater allies in the Dive Against Swine tournament!
As players around the world take on the challenge, every star earned adds to a shared global rescue effort protecting thousands of sea turtle hatchlings. 🐢⭐⭐⭐
The arena is packed, the hardwood gleaming, and the tension? You could slice it with a slingshot band. It’s a full-court frenzy between birds and pigs, and bragging rights are on the line!
The whistle snorts, and we are off!
Red’s got the ball at center court, eyes locked on the rim. Tight control, low bounce, all business. But hold up… The pigs are closing in, thick as Terence’s biceps!
SPIN MOVE! Red slips between two pigs mid-lunge and drives the lane. Two pigs go airborne, squealing, trying to swat the shot out of existence.
And here comes Chuck!
Lightning speed, this bird is breaking ankles without even touching the floor. He calls for it, Red fakes the dunk. NO-LOOK PASS!
PSYCH! Chuck dishes it to Bomb at the baseline. Bomb winds up… you can feel the pressure building. This could blow the roof off the arena.
And now… the crowd rises…
Terence. OH. MY. FEATHERS.
This absolute UNIT of a bird is flinging under the hoop, sweatband locked in, casting a shadow over the pigs. They look up… and you can see the regret.
SLAMMMMMM!!!
A monster dunk for the ages! The arena erupts. What a statement!
And the ref, yes, that pig in stripes signals the score with despair. You know that one hurt.
Lace up! Every pass is a gamble. Every dunk is a spectacle. That’s what the Sling Dunk Playoffs is all about!
A world of cardboard hills and paper trees stretched across the horizon. Somewhere in the distance, tape crackled. Scissors snipped. And the air smelled of glue and PIG ideas.
King Pig stood proudly atop a wobbly platform, cape fluttering with drama. With a royal nod, he gestured forward.
“STAY SHARP!”
Right on cue, a line of minion pigs marched past carrying oversized pencil sharpeners.
The birds exchanged uneasy glances… something didn’t add up.
Paint splashed over what looked like a tower. But was it for decoration… or camouflage? Glue dripped down cardboard walls…
Chuck leaned forward. “Okay, either they’re decorating…”
Red cut in immediately. “Or it’s fake. What if this is all a distraction? Towers in disguise?”
Chuck’s eyes sparkled. “Or hear me out. They’re testing stuff, building fast, failing fast!”
Bomb sniffed the air and nodded. “Smells like glue.”
Nobody argued with that.
The pigs were clearly scheming something big…
A clever cardboard distraction to keep the birds clueless? Experimental towers to keep the birds on their toes? A giant glue-trap designed to snare the flock forever?

Sometimes the pigs build like they’ve got an engineering degree you’ve never even heard of. That’s where helpful tools called Power-Ups come in. Smart, strategic, occasionally explosive tools. Used well, they can turn a near-miss into a mass collapse or push your score high enough to make the pigs question their life choices.
There are six Power-Ups in total: Wingman, Boombox, Birdquake, Sling Scope, King Sling, and Power Potion. Each brings something different to the table. And yup, Power-Ups can also backfire if you get a little too greedy.
In this guide, we’ll break down what they do, when to use them, and how to combine them for maximum pig-popping efficiency.
Before You Power-Up
A few ground rules before you go full demolition expert:
Scout first, smash later. Try a practice run without Power-Ups to see what you’re dealing with. Knowledge is power.
Play smart, spend smart. Skilled play can earn back the Power-Ups you used.
Go for bundles. Each Power-Up has a base cost, but you’ll get more when buying in bigger bundles.
Spin daily. Visit the game every day to get a free Jackpot Wheel spin to gather Power-Ups or Bird Coins.
Play the game modes. Tournaments, Piggy-Matic, Star Cup, and Blue’s Tallest Tower all reward you with Power-Ups or Bird Coins.
Yes, you can beat everything without Power-Ups… but getting 3 stars on the very toughest levels might take almost as many retries as there are pigs.
Check out Webshop deals. As a Red’s Club member, you’ll find high-value bundles with just the Power-Ups you need.
Power Potion
A jug of magic that temporarily super-sizes your bird. Use it before launching a bird, and suddenly you’ve got a feathered wrecking ball. The bigger birds deal more damage on collision and pushes through bigger structures. If used on a Boombox or Wingman, those also become giant.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 20
Maximum usage per level: 4
Effect duration: One fling
Pro Tips:
Experiment. Every bird behaves differently when supersized.
Pair with King Sling for blazing speed + mass = maximum destruction.
Combine with Boombox for mega blast radius explosions.
Use with Wingman if you want to smash entire sections of the level, and possibly your doubts about scoring big.
Aim carefully. Missing wastes the effect, and nobody likes wasted growth spurt.
Not ideal for tight spaces. A giant bird doesn’t squeeze enough to reach all pigs or switches.
Smaller birds cover less ground, even when enlarged.
King Sling
Because sometimes you just need more oomph! King Sling upgrades your current slingshot for the entire level. All birds launched will fly faster and farther than normal. This means longer range and extra collision power.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 15
Maximum usage per level: 1
Effect duration: Entire level
Pro Tips:
Combine with Sling Scope to control all that extra power.
Boosts the effectiveness of Power Potion.
Great for long-distance hits or reaching that one smug pig in the back.
Be careful: you can’t turn it off. Some trick shots and portals need finesse, not force.
Try combining with different birds and slingshots: Chuck can chop a long row of wood in half, especially if you have the Wood Chipper slingshot.
Sling Scope
Your built-in aiming assistant. When activated, it shows a dotted flight path so you know exactly where your bird will go before you launch. The Sling Scope stays active for the rest of the level, so you can line up multiple shots this way.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 10
Maximum usage per level: 1
Effect duration: Entire level
Pro Tips:
Perfect for tight shots, tricky angles, and level 10.
Great for cleaning up after chaos. Looking at you, Birdquake.
Especially useful for newer players until you’ve mastered the flings.
Pairs nicely with long-range Diamond Sling and King Sling.
Lets you hit your mark the first time and avoid using more power-ups than necessary.
Birdquake
Shake things up, literally. Birdquake rattles the entire level, causing unstable structures to collapse and pigs to lose their footing, and dignity. Perfect for knocking down a hanging pig or causing chain collapses, but a word of caution: while there’s rumors of levels you can finish with one Birdquake only, there are also situations where Birdquake has no impact at all.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 15
Maximum usage per level: 2
Effect duration: Varies
Pro Tips:
Use early in busy levels to create instant chain collapses or to make puzzles easier to solve.
Double-tap it (use twice) for extended wobbly destruction.
Not all levels benefit. If everything’s sturdy, you’ll just… shake things awkwardly. There is a learning curve to know which situations call for Birdquake.
Potential for the highest score and chain destruction from one Power-Up.
Timing matters. Activate mid-fling for a perfectly timed structural “nudge.”
All Birdquakes aren’t equal, since the structures and pigs can fall to either side.
Boombox
The Boombox replaces your next bird with a TNT crate. It can explode on impact or float gently down before detonating if you trigger the parachute mid-air. The Boombox gives you 500 points upon destruction.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 25
Maximum usage per level: 2
Effect duration: Until it explodes
Pro tips:
Pair with Power Potion for absurdly large blast radius.
Can hit targets like detonators and pigs behind thin, indestructible walls. Sneaky!
Great for final clean-up of distant targets, especially with the right slingshot.
Similar to Bomb’s power, but doesn’t burrow.
Ideal for triggering chain TNT reactions or mass-collapses.
Wingman
When you need a hero! Wingman swoops in as a powerful force of destruction. He replaces your current bird and smashes through nearly everything in his path. Wingman’s clothing is known to change based on the tournament theme. If you activate Wingman, but don’t use it before completing a level, you’ll be awarded 10k points.
Base cost in Bird Coins: 30
Maximum usage per level: 2
Effect duration: One fling
Pro Tips:
Rarely goes alone. Pair with Power Potion for maximum impact, especially if you see bouncy pads.
Add King Sling if you’re aiming for absolute devastation.
Excellent for high-scoring areas and leaderboard climbs.
Gains speed as he destroys things, which is great… until it isn’t. Too much speed can overshoot your target.
Safer to aim lower in the level for high-scoring areas or base of towers.
Plan your angle carefully with Sling Scope. Wingman doesn’t do “gentle.”
Power-Ups open up new strategies, create bigger moments, and help you turn “almost” into “nailed it.”
Mastering slingshots in Angry Birds Friends is what separates casual players from leaderboard climbers.
Sure, flinging birds looks simple. Pull back, aim, release… boom. But once you step into tournaments and start chasing high scores, you realize there’s a whole world of slingshot strategy waiting to be mastered.
Let’s break down all 9 slingshots in the game, what makes each one special, and most importantly how to use them like a pro.
Where Every Player Starts
Basic Slingshot
Your humble beginning.
Ability: None
How to get: You already have it
This is your bread and butter. No buffs, no tricks, just pure skill. It’s perfect for learning trajectories, timing, and how different birds behave.
Pro Tips:
Use this early on to learn trajectories and structure weak points. That knowledge becomes way more valuable once you upgrade to new slingshots.
Switch back to it when special effects from the other slingshots only get in the way.
The Material Specialists
These slingshots are all about targeting specific materials, and they’re essential for serious play.
Glass Smasher
Ability: Very high damage to glass
Cost: 1450 Bird Coins
Glass might look fragile, but it often blocks access to key targets. This sling lets your birds punch right through it.
Pro Tips:
Best for levels packed with lots of glass layers, especially when pigs or TNT are hiding behind them.
Works well together with Blues to trigger massive glass chain breaks.
Wood Chipper
Ability: Very high damage to wood
Cost: 1950 Bird Coins
Wood is everywhere. This sling turns birds into splintering missiles.
Pro Tips:
Pair this with fast birds like Chuck to slice through entire wooden towers in one shot.
Use low, fast shots to punch through long wooden beams and collapse towers from the inside. Don’t waste it on surface damage.
Stone Crusher
Ability: Very high damage to stone
Cost: 2450 Bird Coins
Stone is the toughest material in the game, and this sling is your answer to it.
Pro Tips:
If a level has a heavy stone base, use this. Breaking the foundation often collapses the entire structure.
Pair it with Bomb to go deeper through stone structures before exploding, or call Terence to smash.
Gives all birds a fighting chance against stone.
All-rounder Slingshots
When levels mix materials, these slingshots shine.
Golden Slingshot
Ability: Extra damage to all materials
Cost: 3950 Bird Coins
This is the premium powerhouse strong across the board, with shimmering animations.
Pro Tips:
Ideal for multi-material structures where no single specialist dominates.
Great for consistency: use it when you’re unsure which sling is optimal.
Treat this as your default tournament slingshot once unlocked.
Wishbone
Ability: Same as Golden Slingshot
Cost: 3450 Bird Coins
Same performance, lower price, cool spooky vibes.
The Wild Card
Jingle Sling
Ability: Shoots extra ornaments for bonus coverage and damage
Cost: 2950 Bird Coins
This festive slingshot adds a bunch of ornaments to your shot, hitting multiple targets at once.
Pro Tips:
Great for levels with lots of balloons, pigs, or TNT, but be careful. Those ornaments can trigger explosions too early.
You can aim slightly off-target and let ornaments handle wide-area balloon-popping.
Be cautious in precision levels: Use it when you want coverage over control.
Beginner-friendly when your aim isn’t quite there yet, with a bit of extra points from ornaments.
The Elite Slingshots
These slingshots change the physics of the game, and you can unlock them only by advancing in leagues.
Bouncy Sling
Ability: Makes the bird bounce, bounce, bounce
Unlock: Reach Gold League
Birds ricochet around structures, hitting multiple targets after impact.
Pro Tips:
Think in angles, not targets. Plan ricochet paths before shooting.
Best used in tight spaces like tunnels, where birds can bounce multiple times.
Avoid open maps without walls to bounce off of.
Good with Blues and Hal where extra bouncing keeps doing damage.
Diamond Sling
Ability: Ignores gravity with straight-line shots
Unlock: Reach Diamond League
This is the last unique slingshot in the game. Birds fly in a straight line with no arc.
Pro Tips:
Use it to snipe hard-to-reach pigs or hit precise weak points.
Accuracy beats raw power, so best used with Sling Scope.
Gives Red a Chuck-like flinging path, and Matilda a well-aimed egg drop.
🎯 Choosing the Right Slingshot
Match the slingshot with the level and switch it based on your next fling.
Lots of stone? → Stone Crusher
Lots of wood? → Wood Chipper
Lots of glass? → Glass Smasher
Mixed materials? → Golden/Wishbone
Chaotic levels? → Jingle Sling
Tight spaces or trick shots? → Bouncy Sling
Long-distance precision? → Diamond Sling

🗞️ News & Tips
Curious about what’s hatching? 🐣
The News & Tips section keeps you in the loop with:
On Bird Island, the birds are busy hiding eggs. But the pigs? Oh, they’re on a full-on egg hunt of their own. Sneaky, snorty, and ready to swipe every last stash. Good thing we’ve prepared eggstra firepower to scramble their plans!
Piggy Island drifted into spring, wrapped in a cloud of cherry blossoms. Petals danced through the air as pigs lounged on picnic blankets, happily stacking bento boxes and nibbling on dango.
Things were peaceful… until…
Rustle, rustle. Pant, pant.
A pig jumps from the bushes, covered in leaves. 🍃🐷 “I saw it! A red boulder!”
“A… boulder?”
“It wasn’t there yesterday. Today, it was. Huuuge.” He leaned in. “It made a sound…”
Gasp. 😱
“HRMMMM.”
Thump!
A second pig stumbled out from the forest, helmet bent completely flat.
“I FOUND A RED MOUNTAIN!”
“You mean the boulder?” Said leaf pig.
“It’s bigger! I poked it…” The pigs leaned closer. “It blinked.”
Gasps. 😱😱
“And then…”
“HRMMMMMM.”
By afternoon, the rumors were in full bloom.
A wandering guardian? A forest spirit? A very large, very red… something?
🌺 Operation: Hamami Blossom
The pigs hatched a plan: Blend in with nature!
Soon, they waddled into the forest disguised as bugs and bouquets, snorting, sneezing, very romantic. 💐🐽
Mission: Find it. Surround it. Investigate. Profit.
The Hamami Blossom Tournament is on, and Terence needs backup before he’s surrounded. To the rescue!
